A poem on Tim’s first day in school.
Hi I am Tim. I got up early in the morning to get ready for school. I was conscious about how I would look and wanted to look smart and cool. I bathed, ate my breakfast and wondered for how many helpings would it last. Finally I packed my bag and was done. In bus my companion was no one. I liked the school, it’s teachers, students and compound, it had a big ground to play and this thought brightened up my day. But in my class all were strangers. They made a great fuss. I couldn’t listen to their hush hush. Slowly I told them my name and they told theirs. They started liking me and gathered around me in chairs. I told them jokes, sung them a song, my hobbies, best subjects and games. They told me our teacher’s names. I gave them my tiffin and they gave me some toffees to eat, though they said later would be the big treat. We got ready for assembly and said our prayers. I who was afraid of going to school was now acting super cool. I had managed to make my mark and not appear a fool on my first day to school.
