The odd one out: An even numbered 2020,the sinister year that was too much to handle which embarked on the darkest horizon possible!!!

It was a thing. The year 2020 that just passed by. Leaving us all, well in shocks, shocks and more shocks. Astonished senses and bewildered spirits. We had welcomed the seeming to be even and wonderful year with open arms and a big heart but it did not pay us back the right way. 2020 was everything sad, dark, troublesome and depressive with every aspect of life being affected by it’s sheer negativity.

For starters, it brought us the best gift out of Pandora’s box, yes, you are right there, the CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.A token of a millennium which brought nothing but complete death and destruction in it’s spate. Affecting the entire universe, this newfound devil disease took it’s frightening toll by wiping almost half of the world’s population covering every part of the world. Because it’s a completely ‘out-of-the-blues’ problem, we couldn’t be on our guards and hold our stands steady. Because of no medications available to combat this epic killer on the loose, we lost lakhs of lives in a flurry including eminent and important personalities. The pandemic affected the livelihood of all strata of society as the country came down in a complete state of lockdown and shock down too making everyone work from home which gave a heavy blow to the GDP of the economy. The people got half of their salaries working from home and the worst hit out of all in this mishap-situation were the farmers, the poor artisans and all engaged in agricultural industry. Every sector of the society from large to small scale industries was affected badly with a loss of crores of rupees to the Indian economy. India lost around 1 crore of innocent people by corona and we could do nothing to stop this rampant attack by the silent assasin.

Our nation bid a sad goodbye to so many eminent personalities who were the pride of our nation from ex president Pranab Mukherjee, Ram Vilas Paswan, Ahmed Patel, Tarun Gogoi, Amar Singh to budding super talented and multifaceted stars and media personalities like Sushant Singh Rajput, Irfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Arya Banerjee, Narendra Bhide, Divya Bhatnagar, Ravi Patwardhan, Soumitra Chatterjee, Asifa Basra, S P Balasubramanyam, Nishikant Kamat, Jagdeep, Saroj Khan, Basu Chatterjee, Wajid Khan. The debacled year ended so did a decade decorated by our shining and sparkling stars who left a deep hollow with their absence who will always be remembered and cherished in our hearts with lot of love for them.

People were hard hit in many ways by this strained situation. As no one was allowed to step out of their abodes people lost their sanity too. Everyone was fighting and tackling undue stress and depressions too. The homely life too was targeted badly. Families had to survive in less than half the money and accruing discomforts. Everyone was undergoing through many kinds of mental issues and imbalances and it became very difficult to balance life even in bare minimums.

It was a year that came being even went out being oddly odd. It was the biggest nightmare we could see with open eyes and which showed it’s devilish designs carved out in our blood. It was an year which made us shiver and scream out and which left us off guard and defeated in the battle of life. The year was sadly an event which changed the face and fortunes of our destinies. The best wish an ardent one which could be on everyone’s lips was to end this trouble period and be able to forget it forever as a scary shit which unfortunately had hit us sometime. Nothing could be more gory and shameful than this year and it’s happenings. We can say in a sense that the survivors of this hellish year showed a damned amount of strength and survival spirit. We sure mourn the loss of our loved ones like nothing. Being a witness to this killer feast of a century I salute the ones who braved this episode of animosity and hara-kiri with that zeal and brave heart. Kudos to all those still alive, silent and smiling. It’s been the hardest year to bear. But let us learn from and forget this year with a tear and sigh of relief together. We can be thankful to each other for being together, helping and supporting each other and caring for everyone’s wellbeing. Let us come together, take a moment to remember the ones we lost and strive to be harder in spirits and energy to brave any kind of storm if ever arises again and pledge to be there for our brethren anytime, anywhere. We should never leave the string of hope and strive to keep us and this world safe and blissful. Let us come forward and commit our heart and soul to the safety, progress and blissful existence of our world, a family we love and cherish and are proud of.
